'Shortlisted'

Opening Reception: 8th July 2010, 6.00 – 8.00 pm.

The Talbot Gallery is delighted to present Shortlisted; a group exhibition showcasing the talents of some of the top recent art graduates.

Selected Artists include: Andrew Carson, Aoife Woods, David Lunney, Gina Forde, Jane Fogarty, Leah Hewson, Maria Makrai, Nadia Shah, Oscar Fouz Lopez.
The exhibition will run from Thursday 8th July until Thursday 22nd July 2010.

This year saw the launch of Talbot Gallery and Studios’ inaugural Most Promising Graduate Award. A call for entries was made to graduating students from Dublin ’s main art colleges.

Shortlisted competition entries from; the Dublin Institute of Technology, the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology and the National College of Art and Design, shall be curated in an exciting group exhibition. This show will be representative of the voluminous and varied emerging artistic talent discovered through the competition.

An emphasis on original creativity, fresh perspectives, sound technical abilities and scope for development will be highlighted in this amalgamation of diverse, young talent.

The graduate in receipt of the Award shall benefit from a year long residency in the Talbot Studios which shall culminate in a solo exhibition hosted by the Talbot Gallery.

The winner of the Talbot Gallery and Studio’s Most Promising Graduate Award shall be announced at the exhibition’s opening reception at 6.00pm on Thursday 8th July 2010.
